BOOK REVIEW

By Bette Lee Crosby / September 9, 2011

STILETTOS & SCOUNDRELS by Laina Turner Molaski Stilettos & Scoundrels is a fun read; the kind of book you want to tuck into your tote and take to the beach. The protagonist is 33 year-old Presley; a gal with red hair, a serious addiction to Starbucks, a passion for designer shoes, and a bevy of beaus who won’t take no for an answer. When Presley loses her job because of a “no” to the boss, she lands a freelance writing gig and goes back to her hometown t.....

A Wonderful Saturday At Westside…

Ladies love parties, and there is nothing more fun than an afternoon Tea where we wear our party dresses, fancy hats and best smiles. Such was the case at the Westside Baptist Church Spring Tea held this past Saturday. The theme of the Tea was Reflecting God’s Glory so every table was decorated with mirrored centerpieces, pink and green spring flowers and fans of pink napkins. Festive beyond belief! The event was sold out with 300 guests. The Tea began with .....

At the GWFC Of Vero Beach

What fun it is for an author to speak to such a delightful audience as the ladies of the Vero Beach Women’s Club. Not only did they regale me with lots of applause, laughter, nods of agreement and smiles, but they also provided a delicious lunch with an easy-on-the-conscience three-point weight-watchers cake for desert. What more could I ask? I in turn, shared stories about my Southern heritage, my always funny, always inspiring Mama, and the events that enable me to creat.....

Meet Sunny Serafino… Award-Winning Novelist

Always a lover of books, Sunny knew early on she wanted to be a writer but it wasn’t until after she retired from her job as a secretary that she began to write. Word after word, page after page and book after book came to life as her fingers flew across the keyboard. Sure, she faced rejection, don’t all writers? The difference is that Sunny refused to give up. Turning stumbling blocks into stepping-stones she moved ahead to ultimately achieve a goal that many half her age.....

Brandeis Book Study Group

Back in June, Ronnie Fassberg invited me to speak before her Brandeis Book Study Group  and I am delighted that I had the opportunity to do so. What a wonderful, bright, energetic and full of questions group of women this turned out to be. The meeting was held this past Wednesday in Stuart, at the Temple Beit Ha Yam. When I arrived the ladies were in their seats and ready to start. They had numerous  questions about the process of writing – no, I don’t follow an outline, and.....
