In the novel “SPARE CHANGE” When Olivia Ann Westerly is at the very lowest point of her life, she meets an old woman named Canasta. As the woman listens to Oliva’s troubles, she serves her several bowls of Okra soup. Olivia begins to see a brighter side of life and this transformationl causes her to believe there is a magical ingredient in the soup. Some of my readers may have had the same feeling for many of them have written, called or texted me requesting the recipe….But unfortunately there was none. The soup was simply a figment of my imagination…UNTIL NOW!
