Welcome. I’m delighted that you’ve stopped by for a visit. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to explore my website, browse through my books and get to know a bit more about me. Here in my blog pages I share news of what I’m doing, writing and reading.

Heartbeats is where I share the stories that are often memories, things that are no longer newsworthy but too precious for me to set aside or part with. I talk about my sisters, the pets I’ve loved and the family I grew up with. Some stories are decades old, and others still have a certain newness clinging to them. But old or new, these are the stories I’d like to share with you.

On the Fun with Fans page you’ll discover dozens of different ways I’m interacting with my readers. You’ll learn about upcoming Facebook events, reader contests, giveaways, photo ops and so much more. In Review Spotlights, I shine a light on some of the awesome bloggers who read and write about my books. Reviewers are important to any author and this spotlight section is my way of thanking them for taking time to read and review my books. In Video Voyages, you’ll have a chance to watch trailers from my recent books, clips from speaking engagements and yes, even a few home movies featuring my sidekick, Sugar.

On Bette’s bookshelf, you can check out my current my reading list along with some book reviews. I’m an eclectic reader—sometimes taking a giant leap from my favorite genre, Women’s Fiction, over to magical realism, suspense and once in a long while, even horror. One of the things I love is finding a new-to-me author that draws me in with the magic of his or her prose.
