Joy her inspriational story and her crocheting – #fanfun

Let me start with my first loves – my children . For as long as I remember I had wanted to have twins my first time around. A boy and a girl so I would have one of each but I must say you have to be careful what you wish for. I did get my twins a boy & a girl however it was my 3rd time around so there I was at the hospital with newborn twins plus my sweet boys at home at just 2 & 4 years old. I was a little worried about handling so many little ones but I had always wanted to be a Mother. I adore kids so even though I was sleep deprived with twins for about 4 months or more – it was amazing! Then my second love crochet was born with the growing needs of raising 4 kiddos I had to get creative. Hats, blankets, backpacks, toys & teddy bears. I love it although back then my kids where not big fans of crochet. After about 5 years of crocheting I laid my hooks down. Life got too busy with work, kids, school, baseball, football & everything that goes with being a working Mom, which I loved.

In June 2000 life as I knew it would be gone forever ~ forever changed. I was working as a nurse with our local home Heath care which I loved dearly. That day in June I went off to work just like had everyday over the past 7 years dropping the kids off at school on my way. At work helping each other with lifting is something we always tried to do but on this day it didn't seem to matter. During the transfer of our patient from bed to chair I felt something pop. I really couldn't say for sure now because it all happened so fast and it has been 15 yrs ago. Before I knew It I was back home, couldn't walk till the end of 2000 when I had to have an emergency spinal fusion with rods & screws. I share this part of my life because it was the day that led to my loves of reading & crochet – it helped me cope with everything I was facing, a long recovery, healing & learning to walking again.

2011 my new love was born, my beautiful granddaughter. She stole heart and wrapped me around her little finger. She keeps me fighting to keep moving. I never want to fight my way out of a wheelchair again. She always has a smile that lights up the room, funny stories that keep me laughing. Her cute little way she tells a story that just cracks me up!! Soon she will be a big sister. And if the new baby is as attached to Grammy as Madison is I'm in big trouble or maybe my back will be. Another grand baby to love, to spoil ~ all the more reason to keep that wheelchair in it's place, in the closet – collecting dust 🙂

My love of reading started as a child. I would get lost in books for hours. Even though I always loved reading I really did not become addicted to reading until my daughter gave me the first book in the Twilight series. Every time I finished a book she would bring another, with each series there were new series. Next thing I knew Christmas was here. My oldest son's gift was the icing on the book addiction cake, a Kindle Fire! Since 2012 I have read close to 500 books maybe more, some of them twice. I read almost every day up until my Kindle crashed. I still find something to read whether it's an actual book or a short story on my phone. I really came to love Ebooks because there are so many really amazing books with an affordable price, some even free. It gave me so many more options to read and explore lots of different genres & authors that I would have never even read if not for my Kindle. One of those authors of course is Bette Lee Crosby who is a very gifted storyteller. I love every book you have written Bette. I can't wait until the next book. Ethan Allen is one of my favorite characters. My heart went out to him through his journey to find his grandfather.
