It may not ever make Broadway, but the musical production “Let's Rock” put on by the Kid's Choir at Westside Baptist was awesome. The thing about kids is that they light up like firecrackers when they get involved in something like this and their enthusiasm is highly contagious.
As many of my readers know, I teach Sunday School to First Graders. Or perhaps I should say, I try to teach…only to find that sometimes the kids are the ones teaching me. This past Sunday I learned you don't have to be a star to be a headliner; you can be an ear, a hand, a heart or even a purple foot. The kids took great pride in what they did, no matter how small the part or how silly the costume. Adults could take a lesson from these kids.
The production included numbers such as This is the Day, I will Glorify and That What I See. My personal favorite (and perhaps it's because a number of students from my Sunday School Class were the body parts) was the song Work Together. The point made in this song is that just as all body parts work together to make a person complete, so Christians should work together to make their lives complete.
Kudos to the Westside Children's Choir Directors…they can be very proud of all their little stars.
