How to cook Turnip Greens with Turnip Roots

5 pounds young and tender fresh turnip greens and roots
1/2 pound salt pork cut into pieces
2 cups water
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
hot pepper sauce
Wash and drain the turnips very well.
Cut greens into bite-sized pieces.
Peel and chop turnip roots.
Rinse salt pork and combine with water and salt in a large Dutch Oven.
Bring to a boil then cover and reduce to a simmer for 30 minutes.
Stir in turnip greens; cover and cook for 20 minutes.
Add turnip roots and sugar, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the greens and roots are done.
Remove and discard salt pork.
Add hot sauce to taste
