Southern Sweet Tea – #southerncomfort
The best thing from the south is sweet tea on hot days. For the real southern tea they would add saccharin tablets but then we found out about saccharin. Now you can add an 1/8 tsp of baking soda. I think this is a little, no a lot, light on the sugar and maybe the tea bags. Of course it's up to you so adjust the basic recipe as needed!
Ingredients
3 cups water
2 family-size tea bags
1/2 to 1 cup sugar
7 cups cold water
Directions
Bring 3 cups water to a boil in a saucepan
Add tea bags
Boil 1 minute
Remove from heat
Cover and steep 10 minutes
Remove and discard tea bags
Add desired amount of sugar, stirring until dissolved
Pour into a 1-gal. container, and add 7 cups cold water
Serve over ice
