SUGAR HAS OFFICIALLY EARNED HER PUPPY TRAINING CERTIFICATE!
It is now official, Sugar has passed her Puppy Training Course. Before you start laughing, this was no easy task, trust me. I spent countless hours practicing Stay, Drop it, and Sit, but I watched with pride as she ran through the challenges of her achievement test.
Oh, there were plenty of times during the past six weeks when I had my doubts about Sugar ever graduating, and I’ll admit she waffled a bit when she got to where there was a salmon-flavored treat on the floor and she was told to Leave-it! We’d practiced this countless times at home, but hey – a salmon treat is a SALMON TREAT! My heart was in my throat as Sugar eyed that delicious and oh so desirable treat, but when push came to shove, she stepped back. (Yay, mommy shouted)
Her grand finale was awesome – instead of the required 15 seconds of staying in place, she did 29 seconds. Applause, 
applause. Her classmate Oreo, was quick to join in the celebration and a good time was had by all. The proud Mom and Dad were happy to pose for pictures with their well-educated Bichon.

Well I must say…Yes, she is the most adorable Bichon I have ever seen. And …I will also say that she is sooo smart! I know I might be partial, but I think I have the right to be….after all I was her trainer!! It was such a honor to have met all three of you.

Pups grow up so fast. Much easier to teach them when they are small and new and cute as buttons. It is nice to know that there is another well-trained dog out there, sitting pretty.
