ROYAL PALM LITERARY AWARDS
THE ROYAL PALM LITERARY AWARDS
October 20, 2012
Celebrating Success and Friendship!
The Royal Palm Literary Awards for 2012 are now in the books and I am proud to say I have a group of fellow Word Weavers who have done some pretty awesome things.
I'll Start by tooting my own horn…Life in the Land of IS, the Amazing Story of Lani Deauville, the World's Longest Living Quadriplegic was a First Place Winner in the category of Memoir. I only wish Lani could have been there to see it, I know she was smiling down from Heaven or whatever happy hunting ground she now resides in – knowing Lani, it is a place with lots of trees and animals.
But there's more, so much more…in all the Palm City Word Weavers won a total of 15 awards. Seven for entries in the
FWA Wheels Anthology and eight RPLAs. Carol Anderson was the Big Wheel Winner.
Our very own Gayle Swift took home three Royal Palm Literary Awards, which was a record even for Weavers! Other Winners included Amber Garr and Barbara Samuels. But we started the evening off in gala fashion with our own Leona Bodie, leader of the Palm City Group, receiving the first Kaye Coppersmith Commemorative Award
Oh and did I mention there was great food and wine…lots of wine!
